AKAFLOOR PROMOTES EVENT TO SUBMIT PRODUCTS TO SJDR ARCHITECTS
On June 8, 2018, Akafloor organized an event to present its products to the architects of São João del-Rei, Brazil. The presentation began at the brand’s factory, where professionals followed the process of producing the floors and, shortly thereafter, went to a cocktail at the Paço do Lavradio hostel.
Akafloor is a family business that began with the export of raw wood logs and from 2010 onwards has been developing its flooring process.
“The finished floor was developed thinking of meeting the population’s desire for new products, interior finishing with cosiness for home. It is a product that has been widely used in the US and Europe for many years, but it is very little known in Brazil.” Says entrepreneur SâmiaRossin.
The event came as a watershed for Akafloor, as from now, consumers in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and region will have the product at retail.
The company works with 8 wood species: Brazilian Teak, Brazilian Golden Teak, Brazilian Oak, Brazilian Cherry, Tigerwood, Brazilian Walnut, Brazilian Yellow Teak and Brazilian Chestnut. According to one of the owners, Conrado Souza, all floors undergo a rigorous process so that the final product is delivered with excellence to the customers. During the finishing, the industrial varnishing consists of the application of 8 layers of imported PU products (Polyurethane) that allow a high degree of resistance.
“In our production process, which includes aluminum oxide, we apply eight layers of products in which our floors come out with a light and silky touch. We have a highly trained and qualified team that selects each piece, one by one, to deliver to our customers”, explains Conrado.
According to Sâmia Rossin, Akafloor avoids environmental degradation by acquiring only wood from reforestation and forest management.
“Akafloor has all the environmental certifications and requirements. We only work with legal products. All the tropical timber we work with comes from forest management in which they are classified by competent bodies and authorized for their size. So we only cut trees authorized by responsible bodies. We handle very consciously, knowing that it is a precious asset for all of us”, says Sâmia.
There were about 30 guests. The aim is to seek direct and indirect partners. The architect André Chaves praised the product and highlighted the differentials.
“The product presented, today, combines two very important qualities when we will specify a floor. It unites the exclusivity, nobility and workability of the wood to the facility of installation and speed of the process during the work, besides being a clean process”, ends the architect.
