Brazilian Teak

(Cumaru)

Distinct heartwood and sapwood by color, light brownish-yellowish brown; moderate brightness, high density and hard to cut; grain thin, medium to fine, attenuated fibrous appearance.

Density: Dry wood has 1,090 kg / m³, being considered very heavy.

Workability: Difficult mechanical processing, but allows excellent finishing in turning and difficult finishing in planer and sandpaper. Accepts polishing, painting, polish and lustering.

Durability: Highly resistant, and good durability.

Red Cumaru

(Cumaru Rosa)

Distinct heartwood and sapwood by pink color; moderate brightness, high density and hard to cut; fine grain to medium, attenuated fibrous appearance; slightly glossy surface.

Density: Dry wood has 1,090 kg / m³, being considered very heavy.

Workability: Difficult to work with, but gets excellent finish on turning, difficult to drill. Accepts polishing, painting, polish and lustering.

Durability: Highly resistant, and good durability.

Brazilian Golden Teak

(Garapa)

Heartwood and sapwood distinct by color, ranging core beige-yellow to yellowish brown; glossy surface and smooth to the touch; medium density, hard to cut; grain coated, medium texture.

Density: Dry wood has 830 kg / m³, being considered heavy.

Workability: Easy to work with, provided suitable tools are used due to the presence of silica. Provides good workmanship.

Durability: Highly resistant, and good durability.

Brazilian Yellow Teak

(Peroba Mica)

Heartwood and sapwood distinct in color, brown, dark-brown core; fibrous appearance, absent brightness; high density, hard to cut; irregular grain to be reeled, thick texture.

Density: Dry wood has 730 kg / m³, being considered heavy.

Workability: Due to its characteristics it is considered easy workability.

Durability: Resistant, and good durability.

Brazilian Walnut

(Ipê)

Brownish-grey or brownish-brownc heartwood , usually uniform, usually showing greenish or yellowish reflections, white-yellowish sapwood. Slightly lustrous surface, moderately smooth to touch; hard to cut; irregular to reverse grain, high density; fine texture.

Density: Dry wood has 1.010 kg / m³, being considered very heavy.

Workability: Moderately difficult to work with and gets a good finish.

Durability: The wood is very heavy and hard, with high mechanical strength and low volumetric retratillation. It is resistant to insect attack and rotting.

Brazilian Walnut (Sapwood)

(Ipê Brancal)

Heartwood and sapwood distinguished by color, with greenish and / or yellowish reflections, sapwood white-yellow. Slightly lustrous surface, moderately smooth to touch; hard to cut; irregular to reverse grain, high density; fine texture.

Density: Dry wood has 1.010 kg / m³, being considered very heavy.

Workabilty: Moderately difficult to work with and gets a good finish.

Durability: The wood is very heavy and hard, with high mechanical strength and low volumetric retratillation. It is resistant to insect attack and rotting.

Brazilian Cherry

(Jatobá)

Color variable in color from yellowish brown to reddish brown with more or less intense tones, thick, distinctly differentiated, slightly yellowish white, uniform medium texture, irregular to irregular grain, slightly lustrous and slightly rough surface.

Density: Dry wood has 960 kg / m³, being considered heavy.

Workabilty: Moderately easy to process, very hard to cut, can be planed, glued, screwed and nailed without problems, provides good finishing. Accepts painting, varnish and polish.

Durability: Highly resistant, and good durability.

Tigerwood

(Muiracatiara)

Variable beige-rosy beige to dark reddish-brown heartwood, demarcated with dark brown bands vertically, variable spacing, with beautifully distinct figures, regular grain, medium texture and moderate brightness.

Density: Madeira seca possui 970 kg / m³, sendo considerada muito pesada.

Workabilty: Easy to process and provides excellent finishing. It receives well paint, varnish, luster and mass.

Durability: Wood of high mechanical resistance and good durability.

Brazilian Chestnut

(Sucupira)

Heartwood and sapwood undifferentiated as to color, brownish-brown root; fibrous appearance, thick texture, slightly glossy surface and smooth to touch; high density, hard to cut, irregular grain to be coated.

Density: Dry wood has 940 kg / m³, being considered moderately heavy.

Workability: Moderately difficult to work with, it has a good finish.

Durability: Wood of good strength and durability.

Brazilian Oak

(Tauari)

Cerne e alburno indiferenciados quanto a cor, branco-palha levemente rosado, textura média, superfície ligeiramente lustrosa e lisa ao tato.

Density: Dry wood has 620 kg / m³, being considered moderately heavy.

Workability: Easy to process, moderately soft to cut, it has a good finish.

Durability: Good resistance wood for indoor use. It should not be used in places exposed to weather.
